Correcting Save Shollenberger Park Blog- How will the asphalt plant REALLY look from the freeway?

Our opponents have created an unrealistic and baseless mock-up of what the asphalt plant will look like from the freeway in order to scare citizens into opposing the project.  This picture shows what the asphalt plant will REALLY look like from Highway 101 at the Petaluma Blvd. South exit once our landscaping has matured.  In addition to the 19 acres of restored wetland habitat that we have included in our project proposal, the project has significant landscaping to help maintain the nature in the surrounding area and mitigate any visual impact.

Project opponent websites dishonestly represents the visual impact of the proposed project with an image of a plant that is not Dutra’s plant and totally ignores landscape screening which is part of the project. The Conditions of Approval clearly indicate a visual buffer of a landscape screening plan as shown above. Dutra consultants sent Friends of Shollenberger Park this image so they can accurately depict the project facts, not fiction, on their website.
