Dutra Haystack Asphalt Project Reduces Traffic

Project Opponent websites continue to misinform the public on the benefits and impacts of the Haystack Landing project. Their newest fib is to suggest that the EIR (Environmental Impact Report) on the project says that traffic generated by the project will be a  ”significant and unavoidable” impact of the project. This is untrue. The traffic is really “less than significant” after mitigation. The opposition fails to tell the public is the EIR clearly details the mitigation to be put in place and indicating the traffic is “less than significant”.

We have sent this information to the Save Shollenberger leaders asking them again to tell the full truth and not tell the public only 1/2 the story. You can download this information from the Draft Environmental Impact Report.  Click here to see a page form the EIR Summary Table II – 1 that shows the traffic mitigation reduced to ”less than significant”.

The Haystack Landing Asphalt Plant actually takes 21,000 trucks off Highway 101 and City streets by barging rock material used in asphalt production instead of trucking the material.

Less traffic, reduce green house gases, less trucks on Highway 101–three more reasons to support the Dutra Haystack project.
